Rafael Trujillo is an accomplished guitarist and composer from Austria and Germany, with a rich multicultural background. Born to a family with Mexican roots, Rafael's diverse heritage has deeply influenced his artistic journey.
With a diverse musical background and studies at renowned institutions such as the Munich Guitar Institute, Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and Berklee College of Music, Rafael has established himself as a prominent figure in the guitar world.
Since 2023, Rafael has also taken on the role of lead guitarist in the band Daath. As a member of the band Obsidious, alongside Sebastian Lanser, Linus Klausenitzer, and Javi Perera, Rafael showcases his unique style, blending progressive metal, jazz fusion, and virtuosic guitar work. His contributions can also be heard on the highly acclaimed album "Diluvium" by Obscura, which achieved notable success and earned recognition on various charts, including the Heatseekers Chart and Independent Albums Chart in the USA, as well as the Offizielle Top 100 Chart in Germany and the Schweizer Hitparade in Switzerland.
Guitar World Magazine praised Rafael when he released his guitar playthrough video for the Obsidious song "Iconic," stating, "Obsidious guitarist Rafael Trujillo delivers one of the most technically formidable playthroughs of the year with this 7-string prog-metal masterclass."
